Folio Redo with Splash

Ultimatum Theme updates were causing problems, and my portfolio site needed refreshing.

Some updates are good and some are bad. The problem is if you get a bad one it’s really hard to roll back to the old one with most applications. And Ultimatum released a bad one, but I was also getting annoyed by how slow and complex the framework/theme had become to use.

Around April 2015 an opportunity arose to purchase the “Splash” theme, an excellent MyThemeShop product. It’s easy to set up and it’s fast, plus it looks great without too much effort. There are many options that can be set from the Appearance/Theme Options menu.

Shortcodes Ultimate

Nothing to do with the Ultimatum Theme but Shortcodes Ultimate is a great collection of short codes to make your posts and pages look great. It has columns, carousels, galleries and more! Even dummy text images to see how your site will look.

Conclusion

The Splash theme (and others by MyThemeShop) is a fast and easy way to get a great looking site online. Many options to change the appearance so it’s not like all the others.
